Eyepiece Projection test:
Using a Celestron Deluxe Tele-extender and a Celestron C8 SCT.
| I took a faceplate from an old security camera with a C-mount, and mounted my Toucam 740 board to it. I obtained a C-mount to 42mm SLR mount adapter. This adapter moved the focal plane back about 1.5 inches. This additional focal length makes a significant difference. Here are some samples: |

are the actual sizes captured from the Toucam.
With new extension added With terrible seeing conditions, I took some video of Saturn using a 17mm Plossl. The small Saturns are with the eyepiece removed. In this configuration, the 17mm Plossl give about an f40. |

Before adding C-mount adapter, on the 12th of Feb, much better seeing
conditions. Same 17mm Plossl as above. In the previous setup, the 17mm Plossl gave about an f30 |

25mm Kellner eyepiece. Poor seeing condtions, but you can see that
the added focal length makes the 25mm Kellner perform similar the the
17mm Plossl before the adapter.
